Business Communications & Content Lead

The Business Communications & Content Lead will create and manage business-facing content that promotes ethical leadership, success stories, and End Workplace Abuse’s value to employers.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes case studies, newsletters, and campaign materials for business audiences.
  • Manages storytelling calendar for events, panels, and public features.
  • Partners with Communications to ensure consistent tone, design, and messaging.
  • Coordinates quarterly “Ethical Excellence” series and media features.
  • Tracks content engagement and lead generation performance.

Ideal Candidate:
Writer-strategist or B2B communications professional experienced with corporate or nonprofit messaging.

KPIs: 12 content features • 6 case studies • 4 panels • 3 major press placements • +30% engagement increase

Business Engagement Director

The Business Engagement Director will lead all business-facing initiatives, managing outreach, partnerships, and communications to achieve measurable cultural and legislative impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Business Outreach, Partnerships, and Content teams.
  • Builds and executes the Business Engagement strategy aligned with goals.
  • Sets and tracks key performance indicators (pledge signatories, partnerships, and revenue).
  • Manages sponsor and corporate relationships.
  • Coordinates annual showcase event.
  • Translates insights from business engagement into policy and communications strategy.

Ideal Candidate:
Senior-level background in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), HR, or nonprofit partnerships. Skilled in stakeholder management, business development, and systems thinking.

KPIs: $400K annual revenue • 1,000 pledge signatories (25% paid) • 100 partnership companies • 10 accreditation pilots.

Business Outreach & Advocacy Manager

The Business Outreach & Advocacy Manager will mobilize small and mid-sized businesses to sign the End Workplace Abuse pledge, endorse the bill, support legislation, and participate in awareness campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains the small business outreach list and CRM records.
  • Conducts pledge drives, email campaigns, and community partnerships.
  • Coordinates testimonials and business spotlights.
  • Builds partnerships with chambers of commerce, B Corps, and business networks.
  • Collaborates with Communications to highlight supporting businesses.

Ideal Candidate:
Experienced in community outreach, small business organizing, or issue-based campaigns. Confident communicator and relationship-builder.

KPIs: 1,000 pledge signatories • 25% conversion to paid members • 4 regional partnerships • Quarterly outreach reports

Corporate Partnerships & Program Manager

The Corporate Partnerships & Program Manager will build the infrastructure for corporate partnerships, consulting, and accreditation programs that generate measurable impact and revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages a database of corporate contacts (HR, DEI, Legal).
  • Identifies at-risk or low-ranking companies and offers proactive engagement.
  • Launches accreditation pilots and maintain consultant directory.
  • Coordinates events, showcases, and “What’s Working” panels.
  • Tracks metrics on engagement, conversion, and revenue generation.

Ideal Candidate:
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), HR partnerships, or program operations background. Skilled at balancing relational diplomacy with measurable accountability.

KPIs: 100 partnerships • 10 accreditation pilots • $250K revenue • Quarterly program reports

FUNDRAISING

Grants Director

The Grants Director is responsible for developing and executing a grant’s strategy so End Workplace Abuse can fund its marketing strategy and expand its reach and offer more services to targets of workplace abuse. This role is commission-based.

Responsibilities:

  • Research potential grants.
  • Maintains relationships with selected potential grantors.
  • Writes grant proposals.
  • Manages grants.

Experience:
At least one year of experience with grant-writing and grant management

Sponsorships Director

The Sponsorships Director creates, oversees, and executes a strategic plan of sponsorship opportunities for like-minded organizations to increase funding for End Workplace Abuse by signing on sponsors. This role is commission-based.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and manages sponsorship options for potential sponsors.
  • Sells sponsorships for End Workplace Abuse general and special events.
  • Maintains relationships with sponsors.

Experience:
At least one year of experience with grant-writing and grant management

LEGISLATION

State Bill Director (Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming)

The State Bill Director is responsible for building up and steering the direction of the state team with coaching with the ultimate goal of passing the Workplace Psychological Safety Act. This role is a long-term role, with the expectation it will take at least 10 years to pass a bill.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs the state bill strategy, including identifying a state legislator(s) to introduce the bill (lead sponsor).
  • Keeps in touch with lead sponsors’ staffers for strategy and understanding of the legislative process.
  • Grows a base of volunteers/supporters through marketing tactics.
  • Partners with like-minded organizations.
  • Organizes actions around the strategy.
  • Recruits, vets, and manages volunteers.

Experience:
At least one year of experience with labor organizing, advocacy, and managing volunteers or an interest in learning

Coalition Director (most states)

The Coalition Director researches organizations supporting labor and worker-rights legislation in the state and builds collaborative relationships to align efforts, co-promote bills, and strengthen collective advocacy power.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies organizations already backing related worker-justice, labor, or whistleblower bills in the state (progressive orgs, unions, legal advocacy groups, survivor-led orgs, etc.).
  • Emails a curated list of priority organizations to introduce the Workplace Psychological Safety Act and propose mutual support.
  • Schedules short virtual meetings to explore collaboration (coalition calls, endorsements, sign-on letters, shared lobby days, joint events, etc.).
  • Maintains a relational map of who is working on what and where there are opportunities to align.

Experience:
No prior experience required — training and templates provided.
Comfortable reaching out and speaking with new contacts.
Interest in community organizing, coalition building, advocacy, or movement work.

Community Organizer (Washington, DC)

The community organizer in Washington, DC, will help build momentum for the Workplace Psychological Safety Act by securing co-signers, mobilizing community support, and engaging key stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone passionate about worker rights, advocacy, and social justice.

Responsibilities:

  • Outreach & Advocacy: Connect with local organizations, unions, advocacy groups, and legislators to gain support for the Workplace Psychological Safety Act.
  • Community Engagement: Educate DC residents about workplace psychological safety, encouraging them to take action and support the bill.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, workplace abuse survivors, and legislative aides.
  • Event Coordination: Organize and attend community meetings, advocacy events, and discussions to spread awareness.
  • Legislative Action: Assist in gathering signatures for petitions, coordinating meetings with lawmakers, and drafting letters of support.
  • Social Media & Communications: Help amplify our efforts through social media, email outreach, and grassroots campaigns.

Experience:
Communication and community organizing preferred but not required

Community Outreach Director (most states)

The Community Outreach Director leads efforts to share Workplace Psychological Safety Act information with the public, expand awareness across communities, and support on-the-ground engagement the state.

Responsibilities:

  • Uses existing End Workplace Abuse outreach materials to plan and deliver community education across the state.
  • Develops additional outreach messages or materials as needed, ensuring alignment with End Workplace Abuse language, tone, branding, and messaging.
  • Plans and organizes community “ground days” to share flyers, speak with residents, and engage workers where they are.
  • Builds state-specific contact lists, including emails and mailing lists, to support coordinated outreach and campaign mobilization.
  • Attends community events, resource fairs, and organizational meetings to share information and build awareness of the Workplace Psychological Safety Act.
  • Identifies new opportunities, community organizations, and local leaders who may support or amplify the campaign.

Experience:
Comfortable interacting with community members and speaking about the issue.
Organized and reliable with strong follow-through on outreach tasks.
No prior advocacy experience required — training and materials are provided.

Endorsement Director (most states)

The Endorsement Director identifies organizations in the state that are aligned with the mission of ending workplace abuse and invites them to formally endorse the Workplace Psychological Safety Act.

Responsibilities:

  • Compiles a list of potential partner organizations in the state.
  • Reaches out to organizations (templates available).
  • Tracks responses and maintains the endorsement list in the shared spreadsheet.
  • Coordinates follow-ups and schedules any necessary info calls with interested organizations.

Experience:
No prior policy experience needed.
Comfortable sending outreach emails and building relationships.
Organized, persistent, and willing to follow up professionally.

Strategic Partnerships Managers

Strategic Partnerships managers work with the Strategic Partnership Director on national coalition-building with like-minded organizations — groups advancing rights in labor, identity, and related topics — to expand the reach of End Workplace Abuse and collaborate with organizations on projects, including pushing for the passage of legislation.

Responsibilities:

  • Mobilizes potential like-minded organizations by spreading awareness, obtaining formal organizational endorsements, and urging organizational leaders to testify at public hearings, submit written testimony, and share testimony information with their bases.
  • Identifies specific aspects of mutual benefit for collaboration or cooperation.
  • Maintains relationships with strategic affiliations and updates contacts and correspondences in Hubspot.

Experience:
At least one year of experience with developing organizational partnerships

Training & Education Director (most states)

The Training & Education Director leads development and delivery of educational resources that support volunteers, professionals, and organizations in understanding workplace psychological safety and the End Workplace Abuse campaign.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds relationships with mental health professionals and other experts who can lend their expertise.
  • Connects with healthcare providers, clinicians, and wellness organizations to raise awareness of psychological harm from workplace abuse.
  • Develops educational content for employers on how to identify workplace abuse, prevent organizational harm, and rebuild trust and accountability after toxic environments.
  • Coordinates webinars, training calls, workshops, or recorded presentations as needed.

Experience:
Interest in education, training, facilitation, mental health, or organizational culture.
Comfortable coordinating learning materials and helping others grow their understanding.
No professional background required — support and resources are provided.

MARKETING

Blog Director

The Blog Director manages the blog to help stakeholders understand the nuances of workplace abuse and our work.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets up an editorial calendar and Google News alerts.
  • Writes blog posts for various audiences.
  • Manages bloggers by assigning topics and deadlines.
  • Edits and schedules bloggers’ posts.
  • Oversees guest blogging (identifies blogs to guest blog on, reaches out to bloggers, etc.) for both other blogs and ours.
  • Monitors the keywords searched in analytics and makes sure those keywords appear in blog posts with frequency.
  • Collaborates about content with other communications team members.

Experience:
Managing a team and writing

Bloggers (therapists, HR professionals, employment lawyers, trainers)

Bloggers write blog posts on both related topics they’re interested in and blog post topics created in partnership with the Blog Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Writes blog posts for various audiences.
  • Coordinates blog posts on other blogs as needed.

Speaker Series Director

The Speaker Series Director oversees booking monthly speakers and film screenings for fundraising and educational purposes to help targets of workplace abuse and employers.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies issues that targets of workplace abuse want to better understand (trauma, neuroscience, equity, navigating the system, healing, etc.).
  • Schedules speakers based on audiences’ needs.
  • Books speakers for monthly talks, coordinates details, and obtains headshots for marketing.
  • Works with directors of marketing and sponsorships to promote the talks and obtain sponsorships.
  • Hosts talks including introducing guests, interviewing them as needed, and vetting questions for guests.
  • Distributes re-plays to attendees and makes it available to our audiences.

Experience:
At least one year of experience with event planning

PEOPLE

Onboarding Leads

Onboarding leads work with the Volunteer Experience Director on welcoming new volunteers to End Workplace Abuse through leading 4-week cohorts.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads 1-4 cohorts of new volunteers annually in four-week, one-hour meet & greets called the Hello Hub. Facilitates icebreakers, story and insight sharing, and education on our organization, including our values, norms, rules, and policies from a trauma-informed lens.
  • Learns participants’ needs for discussion with the Volunteer Experience Director for consideration of new offerings to volunteers.
  • Develops new programming for volunteers with the Volunteer Experience Director.

Experience:
At least one year of experience with leading groups

Recruiter

The Recruiter fills volunteer roles for End Workplace Abuse.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the recruitment process.
  • Responds to and talks with those interested in volunteering.
  • Connects volunteers with appropriate teams.
