“I have worked as a city parking enforcement aide for over 30 years. Since the late 1990s, I’ve endured ongoing bullying, intimidation, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation — largely connected to my medical disabilities. This abuse has come directly from management and HR leadership within my department.
Despite providing all necessary legal and medical documentation, I was still disciplined and even suspended while hospitalized for a surgical procedure related to a heart condition. It’s just one example of many unjust actions taken against me over the years.
My department has also changed internal policies without any written notice or formal communication, and they continue to apply those changes retroactively against employees like myself. I believe these ongoing efforts are meant to interfere with my upcoming retirement, which I plan to take soon.
My union, which is supposed to represent and support us, has provided no help whatsoever — despite collecting dues. It feels like we’re being scammed by an organization that’s abandoned its duty to protect its members.
The result is a toxic, hostile work environment where I and others are left with no recourse. I’ve reached out for legal help, but even employment lawyers have told me I don’t have a case. I feel completely defeated and unsupported.

No one should have to endure this kind of abuse for decades — especially after dedicating their life to public service.”
